New Zealand “hei matau” Pendant #WE8T

Renee says: “Remarkable hand carved black New Zealand “hei matau” carving, set in sterling silver as feature pendant. This lovely piece also has silver set within the design, for added effect. This piece looks great worn on a black cord (included) but also looks nice worn on a silver chain.  Scroll thru’ images for up close peek.” I purchased this hand carved symbol on a trip to New Zealand a few years ago, and knew it would make for a most beautiful and timeless pendant guaranteed to delight.

The fish hook shape of the hei matau finds its origins in Maori legend, which
holds that the North Island of New Zealand was once a huge fish that was caught by the great mariner, Maui.

Length: 2.75 inches   569mm   See photo of pendant next to Australian 2.00 coin for size reference.

Includes black leather cord as shown in photos, but not silver chain.

Rave Review:

“As a fashion and style blogger, nothing excites me more than discovering designers doing amazingly creative things. And when those “things” are stunning accessories that make a woman feel good every time they wear them, then that’s a winning combination. That’s what I love about Reneé Blackwell’s pieces.” Nikki Parkinson
