Renee says: “I have created this beautiful “turning pendant” using two different vintage buttons, for ultimate versatility! These are glass Czechoslovakian buttons from the 1940’s, which I’ve set in hammered/textured sterling silver surround, as a feature pendant. One button is a rich green and the other a lovely blue with overtones of gold. The green button has a bit of  art deco. look which is unique and a bit special. The other button is a lovely sky blue colour with a gold flash. This pendant looks great worn on a long or short chain or cuff, pearls or leather cord. Vintage buttons…treasures from a by gone era to cherish today! Scroll thru’ photos for up close peek at this delightful & unique piece.

Length: 2 inches   50.8 mm   See photo of pendant next to Australian .20 cent coin for size reference.

Includes black leather cord as shown in some photos, but not silver chain.

About Vintage Czechoslovakian Glass Buttons:

The majority of glass buttons made during the 20th century were made in what is now the Czech Republic, handmade by skilled button makers. In 1918 to mid 1940’s era, popular styles of glass buttons include pictorial, cut crystal and realistic which is like pictorials. Art Deco styles started to appear during the Art Deco period. Through the years the button production slowed, especially during WW2, and then started again and skilled button makers refined their skills. Some of the most beautiful, colorful glass buttons came from Czechoslovakia. Today many vintage glass buttons are referred to as Czech glass.
