Renee says: “Remarkable antique button from the mid 1800’s, which I’ve “Colour Washed” in sage blue, then rubbed back to show delightful pattern. The button itself is brass and the cheerful pattern/design is a basket of flowers with a beautiful hat-Such old world charm! I have shown this piece on a chain, but it also looks great dangling from pearls or a silver cuff/collar. A one of a kind, bespoke piece by Renee…”that’s me!” Click on photos for up close peek.”

Length: 2.25 inches   See photo of pendant next to Australian .50 cent coin for size reference.

One of a kind. Free postage World Wide!

Antique Picture Buttons
Making their appearance in the mid 1800’s era, Picture Buttons became fashionable by the late 1870’s and were made until about the 1920’s. Most were manufactured in Europe by master craftsmen and are remarkably beautiful and well made. A Picture Button is metal, sometimes a combination of metals such as steel, silver, copper or brass. Many of these buttons have been given names, either when they were originally made or later as to identify them for collectors. Many Picture Buttons feature designs that depict fables, myths, operas, scenes or popular items of the era. Picture Buttons are true miniature treasures from a bygone era.

Rave Review:

“What can I say about the fabulous designs of the wonderfully talented Reneé Blackwell? I don’t class any of my pieces as jewellery – they are wearable art. I am fortunate enough to own several pieces, and each time I wear one, I get asked: “Where did I get it?” The other thing I love about Reneé’s work is each piece makes me very happy when I am wearing it. Love the lady and love her work.” Chrissi
