I adore these unique square Vintage 1940’s era Czechoslovakian Buttons which I’ve set in solid sterling silver as feature earrings. Dangling from one of my newer medium length sterling silver ear wire, these are simply stunning! The glass buttons are a true grass green with gold detailing going thru’ the center. Rave Review:

“What can I say about the fabulous designs of the wonderfully talented Reneé Blackwell? I don’t class any of my pieces as jewellery -they are wearable art. I am fortunate enough to own several pieces, and each time I wear one, I get asked: “Where did I get it?” The other thing I love about Reneé’s work is each piece makes me very happy when I am wearing it. Love the lady and love her work.” Chrissi

About Vintage Czechoslovakian Glass Buttons:

The majority of glass buttons made during the 20th century were made in what is now Czechoslovakia, handmade by skilled button makers. In 1918 to mid 1940’s era, popular styles of glass buttons include pictorial, cut crystal and realistic which is like pictorials. Art Deco styles started to appear during the Art Deco period. Through the years the button production slowed, especially during WW2, and then started again and skilled button makers refined their skills. Some of the most beautiful, colorful glass buttons came from Czechoslovakia. Today many vintage glass buttons are referred to as Czech glass.
