By petite, I mean much smaller than most of the antique buttons I use to create pendants with. Most of the buttons in this collection are about the size of an Australian 1.00 coin, see photos for size reference. With this piece, I have “Colour Washed” the brass button in rich shades of pink & purple, then rubbed back to achieve the lovely patina. The floral image/design on the button is especially detailed and absolutely gorgeous! Antique Buttons: Most Antique buttons were manufactured in Europe by master craftsmen and are beautifully detailed and well made. The buttons I’ve used in this collection are a combination of metals such as steel, silver, copper, pewter or brass. I have sourced the buttons in France, England and South America, hand selected for their uniqueness & interest. I have “Colour Washed” the buttons with a permanent metal paint, which is similar to an enamel.
