Renee says: “Remarkable 1800’s era antique brass button, which I’ve “Colour Washed” and set in sterling silver as a statement pendant. This unique
“Colour Wash” technique allows me to add colour to metal buttons, which is permanent. I then rub/buff the colour back to achieve an old world patina. In this case, I have “Colour Washed” the button in deep, rich shades of pink and purple. This pendant can be worn with a silver chain or cuff, leather cord or pearls for ultimate versatility. (I am including the black leather cord with the piece, as shown in the photos.) I have added a peach coloured fresh water pearl for added beauty. A glorious pendant that you will wear and treasure for years to come, I call these pieces “Wearable History.” Scroll thru’ images for up close peek.”
Length: 3 inches 76.2 mm See photo of pendant next to Australian 1.00 coin for size reference.
Does not include chains or pearls as shown in photos, but it does include black leather cord.

Antique Picture Button:
Making their appearance in the mid 1800’s era, “Picture Buttons” became fashionable by the late 1870’s and were made until about the 1920’s. Most were manufactured in Europe by master craftsmen and are remarkably beautiful and well made. A Picture Button is metal, sometimes a combination of metals such as steel, silver, copper or brass. Many of these buttons have been given names, either when they were originally made or later as to identify them for collectors. Many Picture Buttons feature designs that depict fables, myths, operas, scenes or popular items of the era or intricate patterns. Picture Buttons are true miniature treasures from a bygone era.
