Renee says: “I love these vintage button earrings so much and guarantee you will too! The deep chocolate brown button has a tiny hint of Aubergine and is the most lustrous of colours. They have a floral pattern/image which is pressed into the button. Set as always in solid sterling silver, these one of a kind treasures are among my favorites of late! I have dangled these from my newer sterling silver ear wire, with a wee bit of dot detail, super nice. Light and easy on the ears, these can be worn dressy, casual or in between for ultimate versatility. Vintage button earrings…treasures from a by gone era to cherish today. About Vintage Czechoslovakian Glass Buttons:
The majority of glass buttons made during the 20th century were made in what is now Czechoslovakia, handmade by skilled button makers. In 1918 to mid 1940’s era, popular styles of glass buttons include pictorial, cut crystal and realistic which is like pictorials. Art Deco styles started to appear during the Art Deco period. Through the years the button production slowed, especially during WW2, and then started again and skilled button makers refined their skills. Some of the most beautiful, colorful glass buttons came from Czechoslovakia. Today many vintage glass buttons are referred to as Czech glass.
I received a lovely pair of earrings from my sister. They came from Renee Blackwell Design, Queensland, Australia. They are so very elegant, so classy that they will be my go-to earrings. I have known Renee for many years and have other pieces she has made, and they are the most unique and special pieces that I own. When I wear them, I always get the nicest compliments! Janet
