Renee says: “Very much statement earrings, I love how these remarkable vintage buttons shimmer and shine and really stand out! They are vintage 1940’s Czechoslovakian buttons, and what I consider a medium size. (See dimensions below) The colour is impossible to describe, but very much a shimmery bronze with nice pattern/design in the button. Set as always in solid sterling silver and dangling delightfully from my newer sterling ear wire, these are among my favourite pairs! Vintage button earrings…treasures from a by gone era to cherish today. Scroll thru’ images for up close peek.”

About Vintage Czechoslovakian Glass Buttons:
The majority of glass buttons made during the 20th century were made in what is now Czechoslovakia, handmade by skilled button makers. In 1918 to mid 1940’s era, popular styles of glass buttons include pictorial, cut crystal and realistic which is like pictorials. Art Deco styles started to appear during the Art Deco period. Through the years the button production slowed, especially during WW2, and then started again and skilled button makers refined their skills. Some of the most beautiful, colorful glass buttons came from Czechoslovakia. Today many vintage glass buttons are referred to as Czech glass.
I received a lovely pair of earrings from my sister. They came from Renee Blackwell Design, Queensland, Australia. They are so very elegant, so classy that they will be my go-to earrings. I have known Renee for many years and have other pieces she has made, and they are the most unique and special pieces that I own. When I wear them, I always get the nicest compliments! Janet
