Renee says: “When I first started incorporating buttons into my creations, they were almost always vintage buttons. But one day while in Paris, a button collector showed me her stash of Antique buttons. To say I was smitten, is an understatement! I soon came to understand & appreciate these are rare and unique treasures from a by gone era. The button in this piece is brass, with a great and intricate pattern and a lovely deep red crystal set in the centre. Set as always in solid sterling silver, this is a stunning historical statement piece to enjoy for years to come. Scroll thru’ images of this one of a kind pendant, sure to delight.”

Hi Renee Just wanted to let you know my parcel arrived today. The earrings are just stunning, I am now jealous of the person I am giving them to for Christmas. Regards, Helen
Making their appearance in the mid 1800’s era, Picture Buttons became fashionable by the late 1870’s and were made until about the 1920’s. Most were manufactured in Europe by master craftsmen and are remarkably beautiful and well made. A Picture Button is metal, sometimes a combination of metals such as steel, silver, copper or brass. Many of these buttons have been given names, either when they were originally made or later as to identify them for collectors. Many Picture Buttons feature designs that depict fables, myths, operas, scenes or popular items of the era. Picture Buttons are true miniature treasures from a by gone era.
